    Visitors

We hope you find something interesting within our wide range of regular talks and group activities. If you are new to the Dorridge area, then joining our U3A would be a good way to make friends and discover what goes on in the area.

We started in 1990 and now have 550 members. New members are very welcome and have the opportunity to participate in the interests described below.

    General Meeting Talks

    David Wood on Roof

We have regular talks at our General Meetings, usually three per month and covering a wide range of subjects. They all take place in Dorridge Village Hall, Wednesday or Thursday, at 2.0pm. To see this year's programme of talks, click General Meetings.

This year's new meeting programme got off to a good start in January, with an excellent and very amusing afternoon listening to David Wood, talking about his 42 years as a master thatcher. Click here to read the full article.

    Activity Groups

We have nearly 40 different interest and activity groups, some of which are so popular that they are split into smaller groups in order to accommodate the number of members who are keen to participate.  To see the activity list and the days they meet, click Activity Groups.

    Latest Coronavirus Advice

DON’T PANIC – BUT TAKE CARE!

Following the guidance from U3A head office, Dorridge U3A is offering the following advice to members on the Coronavirus outbreak.

If you have recently returned from one of the areas identified by the government as worst affected (China, South Korea, Italy and Iran) and have any of the symptoms identified on the NHS website such as:

    • a cough

    • a high temperature

    • shortness of breath

you should not host groups in your own home, or attend group or monthly meetings until you have followed the NHS advice provided after calling 111. If any member does develop coronavirus all members of groups that person has attended should call 111 to ask for advice. If there are any cases among members then the general meetings scheduled for that month (and possibly longer) will be cancelled until the spread of the virus has been assessed.
